Preserving Yoga Lineage and more about Rocket Yoga
Preserving our lineage, this is the way it was meant to be. Some greater energy protects the lineage and moves it where it needs to be. Moving as powerful as mother nature herself, unstoppable. Sacred energy, eternal.
When I'm out and about naturally I begin talking to people about yoga and tell them I practice the Rocket and there like what's that? How do I describe something has been so transformative in my life, something I believe in so much that I practice it all the time. Something that I make the number one priority in my life above relationships and other activities. Rocket Yoga is the best relationship I've ever been in. It never lets me down, it always makes me feel good about myself. Rocket Yoga is the best gift I could ever give myself so I want to share it with everyone. For me its all about restoring your energy and feeling the benefits of a well nurtured nervous system.
Building Strength through Yoga
Larry talked a lot about strength. He would always tell we were going to get stronger. We would feel his hands and he would say feel how strong my fingers are. The Ashtanga Rocket Practice is built upon strength, "your stronger then you think you are we heard a lot" As I have observed myself practicing for the past 15 years I notice that I am still building strength.
Ashtanga Yoga Ignites our Spiritual Fire
Reading once, that if we don't "go thru" anything then how can anything happen in our lives. It's so easy to say that we all go thru things for a reason, yet sometimes those reasons are hard to understand. Why does life sometimes have to be so painful? Sometimes we may never fully understand the workings of the universe, it may not be our job to understand, it maybe a better job to observe what is happening in our lives and allow ourselves to feel our emotions so we can acknowledge them and release them. Inhale and exhale, taking in and letting go creates transformation.
Amber Gean's Inspiration
Ever since I can remember, I had a deep curiosity to learn more about yoga. I dabbled in yoga classes for a couple of years in my home town, Cincinnati. One of my first yoga instructors, Indubala Bhardwaj, suggested I learn to instruct yoga and recommended Larry Schultz Teacher Training in San Francisco.
In April 2000 I arranged to go to San Francisco for training. Feeling fresh off the boat, I arrived at It's Yoga San Francisco. Remembering my first time meeting Larry, he was propped up on a stool wearing his yoga shorts. He looked ordinary enough, maybe even a little goofy with his curly hair and large body. I remember thinking, "Well, that’s him, my teacher." When the student is ready the teacher appears.
