Building Strength through Yoga

Larry talked a lot about strength. He would always tell we were going to get stronger. We would feel his hands and he would say feel how strong my fingers are. The Ashtanga Rocket Practice is built upon strength, "your stronger then you think you are we heard a lot" As I have observed myself practicing for the past 15 years I notice that I am still building strength.

By practicing Ashtanga Yoga regularly we keep building a deep inner strength that manifests in our body and our life. We become more secure in who we are. With strength comes discipline, by continuing to commit to your practice daily, our ability to focus strengthens in all other aspects of our life. As our strength increase thru regular practice, amazing things begin to happen, our feet come off of the floor and we begin to soar. Thats the rocket ship!

Often people walk into It’s Yoga with worry, stress and tiredness written all over their faces but when they leave, they show the effects of Ashtanga Yoga: they feel better and look better, lighter, freer, more relaxed and energized. This is why to me, teaching Ashtanga Yoga is a kind of self-realization; every time I lead class I, as a teacher, grow and express the insights of my own yoga. I see people take in the practice from various angles and develop, change and transcend their limitations, realize their possibilities.
